My Promise

Thu Oct 19, 2006 at 08:34:09 AM PDT

Cross posted at www.bluejersey.com

It should have been said months ago, if not more, but today will do. Here's my promise: I will not say one negative thing about a democratic candidate or their campaign until after election day. Not one. I don't care if a candidate chooses to stay home and watch TiVoed episodes of "Dancing with the Stars".

It's time to fall in line, people. In every race in every town, county, district, precinct, state, village, clubhouse, whatever. The Republican party has proven that they are unable to lead. (Need an example? How about 73+ dead soldiers in Iraq this month?) Nothing less than our way of life is at stake and, in that context, the worst Democrat is better than the best Republican ANYWHERE. Voice your concerns on 11/8. I don't want to hear any "lesser of two evils" bullshit, either. NOT. ONE. WORD.

Get off your ass to either:

A) pull your wallet out of your pocket or

B) to get out and volunteer or

C) do both.

BUSH: Schroder is a racist.

Mon Oct 18, 2004 at 10:29:06 AM PDT

I may be playing the Rove game a bit, but was anyone else disturbed by this Bush quote in Suskind's NY Times Mag article:

''You know, I'm sitting there with Schröder one day with Colin and Condi. And I'm thinking: What's Schröder thinking?! He's sitting here with two blacks and one's a woman.''

So to admit mistakes in our approach to Iraq would keep the world away, but insinuating that a world leader is a racist is ok? And what does it say about our president that he even thinks that way?

Bush don't need no stinkin press conferences!

I may be "preaching to the choir" here, but how sad is it that this:

Bush Pays Rare Visit to Air Force One Press Cabin

warrants an AP story? How isolated and secretive does a president have to be before people say "enough"? I know I'm sick of it.

Wow. Going Upriver Trailer

Wed Sep 29, 2004 at 12:26:58 PM PDT

I'm guessing a link to this has already been posted here, but I just saw it for the first time:

Trailer: Going Upriver- The Long War of John Kerry

Wow, this movie looks fantastic. The trailer gave me the chills. The more I learn, the prouder I am to support this guy. Man, how the heck is this race even close?

As Bill Maher said, "The only place John Kerry needs to look to find a hero is in his own past."

NYT Attorney- Ken Starr?!?

Wed Sep 29, 2004 at 07:24:15 AM PDT

So a story buried in the Times today

Times Sues Prosecutor on Phone Records (Sub Required, I think)

discusses the efforts by federal prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald, to examine NYT phone records related to the advanced reporting of a raid on an Islamic charity. The story is pretty interesting, but what caught my eye was this line (bold mine):

In a letter in August to Mr. Comey, two lawyers for The Times, Floyd Abrams and Kenneth W. Starr, wrote that the records the government seeks, for some 20 days in the fall of 2001, might reflect hundreds of communications between the reporters and their sources "on a vast array of vitally important and controversial matters."

Ken Starr is an attorney for the New York Times?  Does that make anyone else uncomfortable? Am I overreacting?

F-ing Cheney. No wonder the world hates us...

Tue Sep 14, 2004 at 12:02:14 PM PDT

Dominic Bellone, in his daily Hardball newsletter, wrote this today:

A curious quote from Vice President Dick Cheney on the atrocity in Russia a couple of weeks ago: "Previously Russia hasn't always been as supportive, with recent circumstances, would Russia take a more aggressive stance and continue to fight terrorism with us around the world?" Cheney said, "You know, there's been a, in some circles, in Europe for example, some of our European friends have been somewhat ambivalent about this whole proposition with respect to how we deal with terrorist attacks. I think some have hoped that if they kept their heads down and stayed out of the line of fire, they wouldn't get hit. I think what happened in Russia now demonstrates pretty conclusively that everybody is a target. That Russia, of course, didn't support us in Iraq, they didn't get involved in sending troops there, they've gotten hit anyway."

Mother F-er. Am-F-ing-bivalent? So what? All of our allies are wimps because they chose not to go into Iraq? They deserved to get hit?

How does anyone even question whether Kerry will get better support from our allies?

Create your own poster at BC04 website!

Mon Sep 13, 2004 at 12:24:32 PM PDT

For those of you who need some comic relief: Custom BC04 posters

Type in your line and it's added to a BC04 poster. Now, I know this isn't very mature and I know that you can do virtually the same thing on any PC, but there is something gratifying about creating them on their own site. (I hope they get a list of the posters that have been created.)

I don't know what's funnier, the posters you can create, or the words/characters they don't allow. ("because GOD says so" was rejected.)

Bush couldn't even land an F-102!

Fri Sep 10, 2004 at 06:52:04 AM PDT

I may be out of the loop, but this is the first story I've seen that references released flight logs that point to Bush's flight incompetence. When were these logs released? I don't remember it being part of the CBS story.

If he couldn't land an F-102 weeks before he stopped flying, how did he get glowing reviews about his flying ability? Does the TANG not care if you can land?

So this is the guy Bush picked to head the CIA?

Thu Sep 02, 2004 at 05:22:09 PM PDT

Amazing.

"Goss took a hard line on interrogations in interviews with The Associated Press earlier this year, saying "Gee you're breaking my heart" to complaints that Arab men found it abusive to have women guards at the Guantanamo Bay terror camp..."

Abu This

On top of that he told Michael Moore:

"I couldn't get a job with CIA today. I am not qualified," the Florida Republican told documentary-maker Michael Moore's production company during the filming of the anti-Bush movie "Fahrenheit 9/11."

Goss to Moore

Ha! Look what is still up on Zell's website!

So Bush is visiting a firehouse in NY tonight

Wed Sep 01, 2004 at 02:00:18 PM PDT

Bush's First N.Y. Stop Will Be Firehouse

Firefighters Support KERRY

What freaking BALLS. Not exploiting 9/11, huh?

I wonder if he'll mention the fact that he sent more per capita to Wyoming than to New York for homeland security? ($5.42 per capita in New York, versus $37.94 for Wyoming in 2003)

I wonder if he'll mention that firefighters unions support Kerry?

I wonder if he'll mention how many NY firehouses or police stations he's visited since 9/11?

I wonder if he'll mention how many funerals he's attended for firefighters, police officers or soldiers since 9/11?

Please tell me one of the talking heads will bring this up. PLEASE.
